Irina Lucan Arjoca

Specialist in copyright and related rights, with over 20 years of experience in public administration, legislation development and institutional management in the field of intellectual property. She held management positions within the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA), including Deputy Director General, coordinating activities regarding European affairs, international relations and the harmonization of national legislation with the European acquis. She represented Romania within the institutions of the European Union and international organizations in the field (WIPO, UNESCO, WTO), having an essential role in the finalization of Directive (EU) 2019/790 on copyright in the digital single market, during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

She has extensive experience in negotiating licenses, combating piracy, developing regulatory acts and coordinating international projects dedicated to the protection of intellectual property rights. She worked as an expert in European technical assistance projects and as a trainer in the field of copyright, including contributing to the development of the school curriculum for intellectual property education, recognized and disseminated at European level by EUIPO and WIPO.
